So in one of my previous posts, I talk about the cookbook-able nature of Android. I tried to frame it with a positive angle. Tried to spin doctor it for the sake of the kids. Here is the thing. It is just straight up annoying so I am going to do a little bitching about Android.
Quick, hide the soap box. The old man is going to rant.
Insults aside this is how the profession grows. The simple fact is that I could be wrong. But until I sit down and bitch and moan about the language so that smarter people can educate me on why I am wrong or they realize I am on to something, things will not improve. We all want to same thing. Better, cleaner and easier to maintain code. Except for Ron, over there coding for his job security.
So here is my point, why the hell is it so complicated for a developer to make a button in Android. Now before you say something stupid as you see red, just stop. I am not saying that it is complicated, merely that it is more complicated than other languages. It is uglier than in other languages. It’s just annoying.
YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT, YOU ARE A FUCKING IDIOT. YOUR ANDROID BITCHING IS WRONG. WRONG I SAY, YOU FUCKING NAZI!
Finally, we are at the point where I have said my stupid thing and you have called me a Nazi we can proceed with the post. Bless your heart, you shouldn’t let your blood pressure get so high. Remember to use your inside voice and count to 10.
While there are languages that handle that in a more hideous way, why does Android insist on following such a needlessly difficult path. If you think that I am wrong then try for yourself.
Spin up an Android app and make a button that will dialog you some text. Then open up a Visual Studio C# Windows Forms program and do the same thing. The Android is uglier and more fiddly than the C#. It is just the way it is.
Ok, so long as you acknowledge that Microsoft is the devil and Google is the reincarnation of Budda’s and Jesus’ love child, we will be fine. I can accept that point MIGHT be true.
Wow, just wow. Maybe we will just end it here and be happy that you at least read this blog. Just do me a favor and stay away from the news. You might blow a blood vessel in your brain if you read too much news about Google.
