Like most lib-x library, this one will be an easy install. In fact, I am not sure I would have even done a separate post for this if it was not for the precedent I have already set. Anyway, lets dig into the libbluetooth and how to install it.
So what is it? Libbluetooth is a bluetooth bind library. Who would have thought that a bluetooth sniffer needed a bluetooth library? I know I would never have realized that. In case you missed the sarcasm. There was sarcasm in this here paragraph.
Install libbluetooth
First we need to open up the terminal so once you are on the Kali desktop press the terminal icon.
For some reason, some instances of Kali seem to have this already on it. Others do not. I am sure it is probably part of the software install by other programs. Either way it is something you want to check to see if it is installed on your system. Ubertooth needs it.
At the terminal window type apt-get install libbluetooth-dev and some of the finest quality techno-babble will cross your screen as it works.
So in this instance, we did not need to install it. Everything was present and accounted for by the installer. So mission accomplished.
If you ran into a confirmation of using hard drive space, something that will look like this then just press Y. It should then complete.
